JAKARTA, INDONESIA — 27 January 2026 —
Delfingen SA, the world leader in cable protection solutions for the automotive and industrial markets, and PT Askara Internal, an Indonesian company specialising in the production of cable harnesses and injection-moulded plastic and rubber parts, today announced the signing of a joint venture agreement. This alliance aims to jointly address the rapid evolution of the Indonesian market for cars, two-wheelers and off-road vehicles.
This collaboration marks a major milestone in both companies’ growth strategy. It combines Delfingen’s global presence and technological expertise in protective tubing with Askara’s in-depth knowledge of the local market, industrial excellence and distribution network. This partnership comes at a key moment, as Indonesia transitions from an import market to a regional manufacturing hub, supported by the government’s 2026 policy objectives.
Key objectives of the partnership:
- Excellence in local production: strengthening the local content requirement for vehicles manufactured in Indonesia, thereby helping original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to meet the local sourcing targets set by the government.
- Providing a comprehensive solution (“One-Stop Shop”): a collaborative investment offering the widest range of cable protection solutions on the market, ensuring a seamless customer experience thanks to local stockholding and just-in-time delivery capabilities.
- E-mobility: a joint commitment to introducing new solutions for batteries and electric vehicles, in support of Indonesia’s ‘Net Zero Emission’ targets.
The partnership involves integrating Delfingen’s technologies and expertise (extrusion and textile sleeves) into a new joint venture plant based in Purwakarta, Java. This initiative will help create skilled technical jobs and reduce the Indonesian automotive industry’s reliance on imported protective components.
